So apparently after making this comment, a few people were disappointed of the lack of follow through with the post. Although, most of my attention was focused on the game I still should have used my “smart” phone (I say smart phone even though it’s intelligence factor is only superior from the bag phones of the 90’s) to keep more updates flowin’. So to you fans of mine, I bring you the following updates I SHOULD have posted during the Super Bowl (in no particular order). Please Note, all times are approximate, especially after that shitty halftime show.

The Game:

1) Jarrett Bush got to be captain for the Superbowl?? He’s horrible and shouldn’t even be allowed to captain a rowboat.

2) JARRETT BUSH I LOVE YOU!

3) I can’t even call Jordy the poor-mans Wes Welker anymore. Welker should be privaledged to be called the poor mans Jordy.

4) THE GREAT WHITE HOPE DOES IT AGAIN!!!

5) Damn you Jordy, seriously you make James Jones look like a golden glove winner.

6) Take it back, you rule.

7) Take that back you suck.

8 ) Jordy, just when i think you can’t do anything any dumber, you go and do this… AND TOTALLY REDEEM YOURSELF!!!

9) Danny Podell “Likes” Jordy Nelson.

10) James Jones will not be on the team next season, guarantee it.

11) It’s so hard to defend Jones when he continues to crotch-punch all of my hopes and dreams right out of me.

12) What’s the over/under on A-Rods total yards today? 5000? I’ll take the over.

13) Who the FUCK is Jessica Szorh?!? You’re a Superbowl MVP, you can do better than a D-List celeb. Just fly in, and take Jisele right out from underneath Brady.

14) I’m so happy that I can route for Brett Keisels beard again.

15) This game is giving me a heart att… what? Another batch of Chili Dogs are ready?

16) Ben Roethlisberger hasn’t had a BJ like that since his first offense.

17) 25 more BJ Raji jokes ensue, that’s what Cheesehead.

18) Put Clay back in Chuck’s place, and put Kevin Greene in Clay’s place, we’re all good then.

19) God damn Zombo, grow your hair out just like Clay and I won’t know who to love anymore.

20) *Throws on Championship Belt*LETS GO RODGERS!!!!

21) The state of Wisconsin has replaced high fives, fist bumps, and waving, with a single “Belt” motion. Appropriate in all environments for all ages.

22) SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS!!!! *Tears of Joy*

Commercials:

23) I will never ever buy a Bud Product but man, Miller-Coors needs to take notes cuz Bud defintely blows them outta the water every year.

24) Doritos making a strong push for some of the best commercials this year, predictable, but fu… OH MY GOD HE JUST LICKED THAT DUDES FINGER.

25) Oh Kenny G, I would say how far you have fallen if you were ever anywhere respectable in the first place.

26) ANOTHER Fast and the Furious? Just think, by next Super Bowl we’ll be seeing a commercial for Fast and the Furious 12.

27) We have a new favorite… Reply All for Bridgestone was hilarious.

28) New New favorite… Faith Hill Telafloral ad. It’s perfectly acceptable to say Rack in that context right?

29) VW Star Wars ad… I’d say this is my favorite… IF I HADN’T POSTED IT ON THE FB 3 DAYS AGO!

30) Shouldn’t that eTrade baby be like 6 years old by now?

31) Thor looks awful. Captain America looks awesome… when are they going to do a live action Captain Planet ?

32) Eminem Chrysler commercial was a little corny, yet the same time I just got chills down my spine. Didn’t expect a serious ad to be in the running for my favs. (*This ended up being my favorite commercial)

33) I still have no idea why Kim Cardashian is famous but I definitely need to by some Sketchers.

34) Brooklyn Decker, Brooklyn Decker, Brooklyn Decker, Brooklyn Decker.

Halftime Show:

35) This is in the running for worst halftime show ever.

36) Did Fergie piss herself yet?

37) Is the special surprise going to be we finally find out what race that one Black Eyed Pea member is? (credit: Terry)

38) Odds Jerry Jones even knows who these guys are?

39) Will I Am. I DARE DARE DARE you to make a song that doesn’t use another song.

40) I wish Usher wouldn’t have been able to get that latch off and have to do his part tethered.

41) Look! It’s Troy Polamalu playing Sweet Child of Mine!

42) They need to sing Robots by Flight of the Conchords RIGHT NOW.

48) Green Fishbowl. I really wish I didn’t have to work in the morning.

49) Haven’t heard Green and Yellow OR We are the Champions yet, WTF!

50) Time to go home, Evan and Terry are both hammered. Sarge trying to finish the fishbowl on his own. I REALLY WISH I DIDN’T HAVE TO WORK TOMORROW!

51) Sarge is writing GO PACK GO on every car with snow on it as we walk home. Either that or “Pussy”

52) Time to head home *drives by the Big Ten* better stop in here for a drink.

53) Cousin is here with an A-Rod home jersey (I have on my A-Rod away jersey). A microcosm of our relationship is summed up right there, we’re related but yet we are different colors.

54) Trevor sportin his new Zombo jersey. Very tight.

55) 2:00. I better go home so I can go to work in a few hours.

Bonus Post: Best. Night. Ever.

Well that about sums up what my status’ coulda, woulda, and shoulda, been during the superbowl, and if I would have spent the time writing each of these, I would have missed most of my night anyway. I hope you enjoy them. Same time next year?

For those of you who know me, I’m pretty superstitious. Heck, I’m the guy that traded Drew Brees from my fantasy keeper league the second he was officially announced as Madden 11’s coverboy. And for people as equally as superstitious as me, you might want to stop reading this right now just in case you think I have created a jinx, but out of the 13 (and these are only the 13 I know of, there could be more) it seems they have been focus point that the injury bug has decided to bury its ugly self in:

@aaronrodgers12 – Aaron Rodgers- Suffered concussion this week, will have to undergo test to be able to play next week.

@claymatthews52 – Clay Matthews – Hamstring Injury, severity unknown yet, but was serious enough to keep Clay out for the remainder of the game.

@nickbarnett – Nick Barnett – Wrist injury, out for season

@jermichaelF88 – Jermichael Finley – Knee injury, MRI expected tomorrow. I’ve heard both good and bad news, the worst rumor already floating around is out for the season

@20ataribigby – Atari Bigby – Ankle injury – Currently on the PuP list, should be off by week 6 but none-the-less still 6 fewer games than any fan would want to see.

@alharris31 – Al Harris – Knee injury – Ditto to what was said regarding Harris

@ryangrant25 – Ryan Grant – Ankle injury, out for season.

I love being able to hear what the players say via Twitter just as much as anyone else, but my silly superstitious side says, stop tweeting!!!

<img class="size-medium wp-image-389 alignright" title="Drew Brees Superbowl 44 MVP" src="http://www.keepdannoamused.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/63850037-890c343e5de9c7614f086e8f700a76f9.4b6f9645-full-297x300.jpg" alt="This just says it all. Right now, The French quarter is either at work with a state-wide hangover or cracking open another brew on their 13th straight hour of celebrating. Either way, I would love to be a part of what is now going to be the worlds longest Mardi Gras celebration. Congratulations to the New Orleans Saints as they overcame the Indy powerhouse and won their first Superbowl in franchise history. Although last year was one of the most memorable Super Bowls in my lifetime, the Saints and Colts managed to have one entertaining follow up. Here is a recap of the 10 biggest things I saw/learned from SB44.

1) Drew Brees is one class act. To tell someone that Drew Brees outplayed Peyton Manning, they may have laughed at you. 32-39 288 yards and two TD’s solidified him the MVP of the game. Holding his son while raining confetti almost brought a tear to my eye. It’s hard to believe someone so talented and so genuine came out of Purdue. Elite QB’s were always synonymous with Tom Brady, Brett Favre, and Peyton Manning. This win officially put Drew Brees into the top echelon with his fellow colleagues.

2) Perfection. A friend of mine said the Colts screwed up once to the Saints none. He was right. The Saints only had 3 penalties for 19 yards and an impressive 0 turnovers. The crucial Manning interception non only helped keep the momentum in the Saints favor, but also pretty much closed the door to the Colts as it became a 3 possession game.

3) Superbowl Soundtrack. Not even including the halftime performance by the Who I heard more variety of songs than a weekend at Bonnaroo. Off the top of my head, Arcade Fire, Grizzly Bear, Metallica, Jay-Z, T-Pain, Beyonce, Cheap Trick, Pat Benetar, and sigh… Charles Barkley.

4) Continuing with music. Arcade Fire set to slow motion video of NFL players was the sweetest thing ever. Chills hopped down my spine when Reggie Bush did his jump in the endzone to the song.

5) Dwight Freeney’s ankle was the most over-hyped thing since sliced bread. Anyone who actually thought he wouldn’t play in the Superbowl was naive. The man showed no sign of slowness or any excruciating pain the entire game. Glad to see the Saints still took every precaution they could and minus one sack, they did a great job keeping him in check.

6) Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Who… But I would have much rather seen Carrie Underwood come back on stage at halftime with that white suit on… or off, her choice.

7) Marques Colston = future Braylon Edwards? Yes he is the number one receiver and I am still a fan of his work… BUT he had some more drops yesterday, something you can’t have from your number one receiver. The Saints are stacked to the ceiling with wideout threats, and I don’t think would miss Colston’s presence if he were to get dealt. The last time he has broken 100 yards receiving? November 30th. Not to mention only one TD since December 13th. He is a huge fan favorite in Nawlins, and he does have the height… maybe I’m just remorseful due to his lack of output on my fantasy team this year.

8 ) Charles Barkley should never do a commercial again. Ever. That goes double for Joe Montana and whatever the hell a Shape-up is.

9) For a solid half hour I thought the Who drummer was Sean William Scott with a wig on. Seriously, go on youtube and check for yourself.

10) Brett Favre 2020 commercial was great… although in the back of everyone’s head, we could all see it actually happening.

Bonus) Tracy Porters haircut makes me want to shave words into my head now. I’m willing to sell out too, people. Advertisers, for the right price I’ll be a walking billboard

Waking up this morning I had one thing on the mind. Football. The Saints/Vikings in the NFC (Go Saints!) and the Jets/Colts in the AFC (Go somebody!), but as I viewed my normal resources one thing in particular stuck out in my update feeds. As I constantly scanned facebook (I’m probably borderline stalker, who am I kidding, full on stalker), my friend Jon who lives and breathes any type Wisconsin sports had this posted on his wall: “Did u hear about the news story that rumored the brewers moving to Orlando?” The Milwaukee Brewers are moving to Orlando!!! Ha. HA! I haven’t laughed that hard since I saw Dumb and Dumber for the very first time (Greatest. Movie. Ever. But that’s for another day). The story came from an Orlando television station, WFTV saying that the one team possibly willing to relocate, is the Milwaukee Brewers. Here’s what the Brewers staff had to say about the reports…

Totally untrue, Brewers vice president of communications Tyler Barnes said.

“The reporter or whoever else is putting that out there should do his homework,” Barnes said. “It’s irresponsible. We just finished ninth in attendance, we have one of the best ballparks in baseball and an owner who is totally committed to the [Milwaukee] area.

“That report is beyond hilarious. I needed a good laugh today, and I got it.”

Not only this but the teams lease at Miller Park runs through the year 2030, which also includes a non-relocation agreement. Not to mention, Florida game attendance in professional sports is horrendous and would be a poor financial move for any team.

Let me just say this, lending out a PS3 = insurmountable amounts of free time on your hands. You’d think the way I’ve been working on KDA lately, that it has become my full time job. Someday? Doubtful. Right Now? Ha. Maybe my google adsense will kick in more than $0.01/month someday. It has become clear to me that although I enjoy writing about other things. I can’t go one day without mentioning the Packers. “But Danno, how can you write about the Packers now? They have been mathematically eliminated from the playoffs, and the draft is still months away?” A few things, a) The Packers rival the quote about males and sex… “We think about it every 6 seconds”. I can only assume that every Wisconsinite feels the same way about the green and gold. b) I’ve been meaning to get an article on this particular subject about the Packers for a while now, but never had the time nor ambition. Again, lending out the PS3, possibly the best thing that’s ever happened to this site. Finally c) Although every Wisconsinite may feel this way about thier Packers, many fans take the Packers much like their politics… Lots of bark, no bite. One subject in particular would be on why Packer nation insists on hating on Ted Thompson. I’m here to once again play devils advocate and help throw some sense into you knuckleheads. Because I’m sick of comparing angry Ted Thompson haters to red-neck hicks that sleep with their cousins.

Dollars and cents.

When taking over for Mike Sherman as GM in 2006 the Packers were over the salary cap. Some of TT’s first decisions was to trim the balance. What we as fans saw was a new guy getting rid of three fan favorites, Marco Rivera, Mike Wahle and Darren Sharper. What we failed to see is the breathing room that opened up in the cap because of it. Thompson also would then proceed to go after more affordable draft picks and lesser known names that held talent, but not by any means glamorous. We started to see players like Samkon Gado, Donald Lee, and Javon Walker come in, which in retrospect now, all aided in paying off for the team as temporary help. (Lee still with the team) Unfortunately, during the transition years the Pack would finish 4-12. The combination of this poor transition wouldn’t help Thompson win any support from the fans, but behind the scenes the fat was being trimmed and the transition would soon take place.

Let me say this before I go any further… its ok to hate TT. He has made some poor decisions in the past, present and probably will in the future. That out of the way, you can NOT hate TT for dumping out Favre, while at the same time cheering for Green Bay’s golden boy, Aaron Rodgers. The reason you are angry has suddenly become the same reason you tune into Fox every Sunday at Noon and put up with Kenny, Moose, and Gooses, sub-par commentating. Remember, Thompson is the reason that the Green Bay Packers have Aaron Rodgers. Yes he may have gotten rid of the immaculate Favre, but at the same time, he didn’t leave the team hanging without a great contingency. Rodgers has been a savior to a team that faced possibly the worse PR crisis in the history of the Packers as the whole Favre circus came crashing down. Despite all that A-Rod pulls off back to back 4,000 yard seasons, 58 TD’s, and a average QB rating of 98.5. He was a dark horse candidate for this years MVP ballots.

Forever known as the man who shunned the legend.

The soul sour taste in every Packer fans mouth and probably the thing that I will hear the most from readers is “well Favres still in the Playoffs”. To that I have to say this… who cares. Is Favre your current QB? Is he the one that is throwing TD passes to fan favorites Jennings and Driver? Is he the one that tucks you in at night? The answer to all of these is no… unless one of Brett’s daughters is reading this. Bringing this back to Thompson, after the divorce went sour, TT made safety measures to make sure Favre didn’t end up playing for the Vikings, Bears, or Lions, but there is only so much he could do. It is simply out of Thompsons hands after the agreement with the Jets had been made and the transition to the Vikings by that point should have little to do with Thompson. Sure, the separation between the Pack and Favre should not of been that sour, but how many ways can you tell a 3 time MVP you want to move forward without pissing the guy off? Ted stuck with the right man in Aaron Rodgers; saint, savior, fantasy stat whore. Drafting him was and probably will be one of his most shining moments. This brings me to my next point… the draft.

Draft room genius.

I think when people think of Ted Thompson drafts, people will more so bring up the word “fail” more than “success”… For this I blame Justin Harrell. A questionable first round pick in 2007 is to put it nicely. The man was on the IR before his name was even called. A horrible pick and I will agree with you until the end. Ted fucked up. Now I ask you this, out of the five draft years that Ted has drafted for the Packers, try and count on just one hand 5 more epic fails. I won’t say just a flop because not every player is still on the team, you cut some, you trade some, you lose some to injury… these are typical franchise moves. Just name 5 other picks that you would consider just utterly illogical screw ups. Personally, I can only think of one, and that’s Brenno Giacomini. He eats up cap room, and doesn’t play a game. He’s no better than a common thief. NOW… name 5 players that he drafted that are stand out solid picks. I’ll do you one better and name you ten. Aaron Rodgers, Nick Collins, Brady Poppinga, AJ Hawk, BJ Raji, Clay Matthews, Johnny Jolly, Jermichael Finley, TJ Lang and Jordy Nelson. Before you counter me by saying well, “so and so wasn’t THAT impressive” I’ll throw you Brandon Jackson, Mason Crosby, and Brad Jones for safe measures. The point is, Ted can draft. Not only can he draft, he can see talent on other teams… point and case number one, Charles Woodson.

Given a second chance.

Scouts said he was washed up, and coaches said he was a cancer. Charles Woodson never fully developed into the Heismann playmaker that he once was. But Ted Thompson and his staff saw through those things and sought out to grab up the cornerback. Green Bay would have luck on their side, when no other team in the NFL even wanting to talk to Woodson, so Green Bay being the only viable option, was finally talked into signing a 7 year, $52 million dollar deal. Having a difficult time adjusting, Woodson was far from being excited to sign with a team where the price of his Denali was larger than the town’s population. With age came wisdom and much to the dismay of things, being in a town with little night life, and not much to do elsewhere, also meant staying out of trouble. This lead to boredom and boredom slowly turning into productive study times. The once “cancer” that would sometimes go days without ever opening his playbook is now a leader on and off the field and spends more time than any other defensive player looking at film. Woodson was rewarded with his superb play this season by winning the Defensive Player of the Year award, the first time a defensive back has won the award since Deion Sanders. Yeah, next time you are sending your praises or talking about one of his pick-6’s with your friends, give a little thanks to Ted.

Bright Future.

Thompson has now taken his teams to the playoffs four times in the past 10 years, a feat only a few other GM’s can probably say. The top selling Packer jerseys are Aaron Rodgers, Charles Woodson, Greg Jennings and Clay Matthews… all products of the Thompson cerebrum. TT needs to be credited to much of the Packers success and rise back to glory, and to those who think that the world came to an end after the Cardinals beat the Pack in the heartbreaking OT loss, don’t worry… They’ll definitely be back, with TT leading the way.

Talk about a Monday morning hangover. This one may last until next season. If this was a Todd Phillips film, Alan just snuck us the roofies, and it’s the next morning with a Tiger in the bathroom, a baby in the closet, and a horrible taste in our mouth. Yes it was one of the most exciting playoff games of all time, but it all counts for not when your team ends up on the losing end.

Living 20 minutes away from Lambeau field and deep within the heart of Packers country, the feelings described by people 24 hours after the incident would be anger, depression, anger, confusion, sadness, and oh yea, anger. As an avid status updater on facebook, I saw more angry emotions riveted out than a Jerry Springer show of the late 90’s. All the morning radio shows broadcasted angry callers with no real justification to their anger, besides the fact that the Packers had lost. One man has been arrested in the state of Wisconsin for domestic abuse to his wife, blaming it on the Packers loss (no joke!). So I thought rather than beating the dead horse, I’d play devils advocate and try and show the other side of the coin for everyone. The following may anger your blood up more, but remember you’re not angry at me… you’re angry at Hurricane Warner.

Don’t get me wrong, I am an avid Packer fan. I have multiple Packer jerseys including my favorite, authentic Paul Hornung jersey the autographed Packer football, an entire football card binder of just Packers collecting dust in my closet. So why hasn’t the anger bug infected me yet? To be honest, I’m not sure. The officiating crew was sub-par to be nice about it, two failed calls to which particularly stick out in my mind was the Larry Fitzgerald knock down of Charles Woodson for the TD and of course the Aaron Rodgers fumble where the blatent facemask was shown for all the nation to see, minus 7 refs.

Sure, I am depressed they won’t be facing Drew Brees and the Saints next week for another offense orgasmic game. The fact that we may never have a chance ever to see the Claymaker reek havoc on Brett Favre in the backfield urks me. But, this was the first game in 18 weeks that I didn’t have to say this… “Let em Play!” I can almost sympathize for the refs at times when I see the double edged sword. Too much and you are babying the players… too little and they’re accused of being blind as a bat. Before I go any further, I will state this… I DO NOT agree with the lack of calls on the A-Rod facemask or the Fitzgerald push. Those two things were inexcusable. Those two things don’t mean this game was entirely the referees fault. People just need their scapegoats and the zebras are the easiest target. But let’s not forget, this coveted Packers D, just gave up 54 points. Let’s say they call back that Fitzgerald push. The Green Bay D looked like a Pee-Wee D vs. an NFL offense yesterday. Called back or not, the Cardinals were once again driving and would score that drive anyway.

As for the fumble in OT by Rodgers, an explanation came out on why no facemask was called. As the ball left Rodgers hand and went live, it’s the back judges job to automatically focus on the ball rather than the player, so his vision moved onto the ball. At the given angle it appeared that no other ref had a view then on Rodgers face/facemask thus allowing the facemask to go by without a call. Again, still inexcusable, but at least it was a failed call because the ref was sticking to his guns and doing his job. Right?

Speaking of the D… what the hell happened to them? The Packers came into this game with the #2 defense in the league, just to get repeatedly violated by Kurt Warner and Co. The same thing happened vs. Pittsburgh two weeks ago. Something about our backfield just screams throw right up the middle and it must be the Packers Kryptonite, because when it happened (in either game) it melted the D like a hot wire through butter. Matthews, Hawk, Barnett, Chillar are studs, but not even one year into a 3-4 change and then add in little to no playoff experience, and these guys just seemed lost all game.

Finally, hats off to Mason Crosby. I immediately got posts and texts after the game saying “just think if Crosby would’ve hit that one FG now” but come on, it was a 54 yard field goal. It wasn’t even a month ago when we were all nervous about Mason hitting a 28 yarder. I feel that 54 yarder wasn’t that horrible of a situation. If he misses, oh well, it was a damn long FG and 2 yards more than his record long. If he makes it, hey! 3 points and one confident kicker!

Finally to the people that are blaming Aaron Rodgers. Shame on you. You are no better than the fair weather fans of southern Wisconsin. A-Rod ended the day with a QB rating over 121.3, normally a rating that would solidify a win anyday. He can’t help the fact that Warner threw a 154.1. This was A-Rods first playoff game as a starter ever and he aired out to almost 400 yards and four TD’s. Blaming Rodgers tells me that your opinion rivals that of a six year old on the subject of why he should drive the car down I-94. This was a great playoff experience for Rodgers. He still is young. He will be back in the postseason. I’m already looking forward to next season.

One of my new years resolutions was to be more active on my website. I mean, why pay for something I’m never going to use? Of course, I’m sure that is the same exact thing every bowflex owner says to themselves after it becomes a glorified clothes hanger. But I want to be better than that. It’s time to change my ways, and there’s no better way to start blogging than during the first day of the NFL postseason. By now, everyone knows that the stage has been set. The intense playoff scenarios we’ve seen since week 3 have come to an end. No more if team x wins, and team y and team z lose, then team a make it in. This. is. it. Since it is wildcard weekend I’ll simply break down the four games that are happening over this weekend, and leave my bye week criticism for next time.

Saturday 3:30: New York Jets @ Cincinnati Bengals

Probably the game I care about the least, but much like sex, even when it’s bad, it’s still good. Neither team has much playoff experience and as for QB vs QB Palmer has rookie Mark Sanchez beat with postseason passes 1-0. as Palmers sole pass to Chris Henry back in ‘05 was his only postseason completion before blowing out his knee.

Which QB needs this more?

Palmer, hands down. Remember back in 2005 when we all thought that the Bengals were soon to be the turnaround team of the decade? Yeah, neither do I. They have been consistently sub par with more people remembering the off field antics rather than on. Carson Palmer also needs to prove that he is worth that cool $100 he got years back… which I’ve always said, he’s not. Also with all that experience and now 30 years of age the Bengal QB is 0-1 in the playoffs (Ravens QB Joe Flacco is already 2-1 in the postseason at the age of 24). Prove me wrong Carson.

My Pick: New York Jets. Yes they snuck into the playoffs due to some week 17 luck but I believe the rematch vs. Cincy from one week ago will carry over into today. I pick the Jets not because I like the offensive tactics of Mark Sanchise and the offense, but rather I fully back Darrelle Revis and the D. If anything, watch the Jet’s run game go off. Time and time again the Jet’s secondary has simply turned off pass happy offenses and today will be no different. Benson will not be able to carry the load on his own, especially if the Bengals have any respect for trying to keep him healthy for the rest of the post season which brings us back to the beginning… Benson won’t matter because the Jet’s will beat them!

Final: Jets over Bengals 23-17

Saturday 7:00 Philadelphia Eagles @ Dallas Cowboys

Not even one week from a humiliating shut out at Cowboys stadium, the Philadelphia Eagles have to head back to Dallas to fulfill their playoff destiny. Should Philly fans be worried? I wouldn’t be… mainly because IT’S DALLAS! Ok, so that’s not really a viable reason to not be worried but lets just look at their team. They haven’t won a playoff appearence since 1996, Wade Phillips continually get’s outcoached week in and week out, thank god they have some talented players, and home field adtvantage simply isn’t what it used to be. Dallas may be the most scrutinized 11-5 team in the history of sports and even after winning the division, many nay-sayers say they won’t go far… I also being one of them. So Philly dropped the ball big time in week 17, who cares… You can’t hide the fact that the Eagles still have one of the most potent offenses since the Greatest show on Turf days. Andy Reid and his Eagles are also a perennial playoff team and the game faces will be on come postseason.

Which QB needs this more?

I would love to say McNabb simply because I just feel bad for the guy now. He continually brings the Eagles to the postseason and yet as soon as he throws an incomplete pass, the team, franchise, fans, coaches, hobbits… are all after his head. He gets beat up by the media, benched by his coach, whispers by his teammates, but he still helps take them to the playoffs almost every year. After mentally massaging McNabbs ego (because I know he will be reading this), I’ll continue with saying Romo does need this more, because as much as McNabb is getting attacked he at least can win playoff games. Yes I know he hasn’t won a superbowl but stay with me… this is only Romo’s third playoff appearance and he has only averaged 58.3 QB rating in those 3 games. Finally who can forget the messed up hold for the game winning kick vs. Dallas, or the final interception thrown to that New York Giants D.

My Pick: Philadelphia Eagles. Green man, rejoice. Philly will live to see another day. Too many offensive weapons to shut off and with the playoff experience to follow I can’t see Dallas taking this at all. I also would like to see another “Always Sunny” episode based off the Eagles, so maybe that’s why I will be cheering for them…

Final: Eagles over Cowboys 38-24

Sunday 12:00 Baltimore Ravens @ New England Patriots

The one wildcard game that isn’t a rematch of week 17 shouldn’t bring any surprises. Let’s Quinton Tarantino this and start from the beginning. I like Flacco, he’s a calm cool quarterback that can thread the needle. He makes the cast around him better. I like Ray Rice. He’s a genuine play maker and single-handedly beat me in fantasy football… sigh. Besides the point though, he makes the offense that much more dangerous and when he’s healthy, you better watch out. I used to think he was a poor mans MJD, but this season, he’s earned the right to be his own man. The defense, although having a very not like them down year, is still a force to be recon with. Whom I think is the team that paved the way for making the 3-4 so popular, even on a down year, Ed Reed, Ray Lewis and the rest will still be a force to be reckoned with. After all that has been said, I’m sorry that I’ll have to watch them lose. New England is still better.

Which QB needs this more?

Tom Brady. He has already comeback player of the year, and he will continue to show that he can come from a season ending knee injury and return them to the glory land as he did during his MVP campaign. Joe Flacco is still young, and will have the weapons to get back to the playoffs in the future. He will get his chance, it just won’t be this year.

My Pick: New England Patriots. Ravens have never beaten the Patriots in their entire NFL history. And New England being on an up year isn’t going to help matters. The Patriots have a strong offensive team with all it’s weapons in high gear, and just when you think they can’t bring in anymore weapons, Fred Taylor gets healthy and adds another experienced, and explosive weapon to the line up. Sorry Baltimore, I can’t give this one to you

Final: Patriots over Ravens 30-27

Sunday 3:00 Green Bay Packers @ Arizona Cardinals

Saving the best for last, that’s the way I like it. I think the over/under for this game is 491. I heard they put an air traffic control tower up in the north endzone. I think they A-Rod and Kurt Warner already have thrown for 5 TD passes and the game hasn’t even started yet. Ok, I’m done. But seriously, I cannot wait for this game. As highly regarded as the Green Bay Packer defense is, I believe both offenses are just going to over shadow any defense heroics… unless of course your name is Charles Woodson. Momentum has been viewed very differently by both teams as the Packers seem to thrive on it and as the Cards feel they can succeed without it. Both coaches chose to go about their week 17 match up in different fashions as the Cards chose to bench starters early and keep the playbook reserved, and McCarthy and the Packers chose to ride some of that “momentum” and keep the train rolling until 3/4 through. It’s funny how both worlds are so different and yet so similar at the same time. Warner will have most of his weapons healthy (Boldin is still listed as Questionable) and the banged up DRC and Antrel Rolle are ready to come back and start in that Cardinals D. The Packers have stayed relatively healthy since the low point of losing Al Harris and Aaron Kampman on the same week but replacements have shown they can let their light shine just as bright. Either way, just get ready for a great game.

Bring back the stache A-Rod

Which QB needs this more?

Aaron Rodgers. I don’t even want to beat the dead horse any further into the ground, but I think you know why. I can’t even get through my first post of the year without saying his name. A-Rod has stepped out of Brett Favre’s shadow in almost every way possible now with the exception of the post season. This will be Aarons first start in the post-season and he needs to show that he can win in the playoffs. Again, dead horse. I’m done.

My Pick: Green Bay Packers. As I stated earlier, home field advantage isn’t what it used to be and the Packers are simply the better team. Also if you add in that whole “momentum” thing, then the Packers have that too. If Boldin so happens not to play, this could also play a key factor, because efficiency of Larry Fitzgerald will be put to the test with Charles Woodson setting up camp by him all day. Steve Breaston could potentially have a huge game but I will reiterate that the Packers just have overall the better team, record, momentum, and coach.

Final: Packers over Cardinals 42-30

There you go people!
