Have you ever dreamed of combining work with play? Well… most of us are not that lucky, but if you are a gamer and need a computer chair, BoomChairs might be right for you. These gaming chairs offer maximum comfort, superior sound, lumbar support and total portability.

Each chair is unique in its own way and is built with the gamer in mind. For instance the Admiral BoomChair features two 2-way speakers with adjustable volume, base. The ergonomic design offers adjustable headrest, tilt and tension. This chair is perfect for the office and for the game room. (shown below)

Another great option is the BoomChair A44. This gaming chair features a pair of 3 in 2-way speakers, a 4 in subwoofer, interactive vibration motors, rugged canvas surface with breathable padded mesh comfort zones, as well as an adjustable headrest.
My favorite chair is the futuristic looking BoomChair Stealth available in black and silver. Not only is this cool looking but it also offers great features. Such as Two 3 inch 2-way speakers and a 4 inch subwoofer, reinforced padded armrests and an adjustable headrest and adjustable swivel and tilt. (shown below)

I’m always a fan of creative music videos. Not only do they help enhance the feel of a song, but they can also turn mediocre songs into downright awesomeness. Within the past 3 weeks two music videos have caught my attention playing off the major “lets bring in a celebrity” card. Vampire Weekend played the numbers game bringing in Jake Gyllenhaal, Joe Jonas, Lil Jon and the RZA in “Giving up the Gun”. Now, this pop lullaby song was a good change of pace song in the first place for Vampire Weekend, but adding these folks to the video, raises its bar even more. Gorillaz also brought in a mega celeb to help kick off their newest album “Plastic Beach” as Bruce Willis chases down the animated characters of the band.

After watching these two videos for about 12 hours straight, I started to recall other music videos that I have loved to watch again and again due to some amazing cameo or celebrity feature. So without further ado, here’s my KDA top 10.

10) Fiona Apple – Not about Love
Celebrity – Zak Galifianakis
This is one of those prime examples of without the video, the song is complete shit. Zak MAKES this video. The now famous Hangover star shows his indie roots by lip synching “Not About Love” in this vid. I’d kill for his beard.

9) Stone Temple Pilots – Sour Girl
Celebrity – Sarah Michelle Gellar
A very gothy SMG makes a trippy cameo in this vid. So weird. Can’t stop watching.

8 ) Lit – Miserable
Celebrity – Pamela Anderson
Sex sells, so why not make a music video of a gigantic almost naked Pamela Anderson while a band sings on top of her.

7) The Lonely Island – J*** in my Pants
Celebrity – Molly Sims, Justin Timberlake, Jamie Lynn-Sigler
Funny song, hot girls, star studded cast. Andy Samberg, you are a comedic genius.

6) Gorillaz – Stylo
Celebrity – Bruce Willis
I’m not sure how they convinced Bruce Willis to be in this hip video, but I’m glad they did.

5) Tom Petty – Into the Great Wide Open
Celebrity – Johnny Depp, Faye Dunaway
A very young Johnny Depp cameos in one of my favorite Tom Petty songs, of course, is there really a bad Tom Petty song?

4) Justin Timberlake – What Goes Around
Celebrity – Scarlette Johannson
Ok, I may be a sucker for Justin Timberlake (The guy is a triple threat), but if they put anymore production value into this one, it’s a multi-million dollar movie.

3) Vampire Weekend – Giving Up the Gun
Celebrity – Joe Jonas, Jake Gyllenhaal, Lil Jon, The RZA
I’m a big Vampire Weekend fan, so there could be some bias here, but put more cameos in your music video than an Entourage marathon and you’re gonna get noticed. If you’re really savvy you’ll notice the lead girl in this vid is the same girl from the Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa video.

2) Weezer – Perfect Situation
Celebrity – Elisha Cuthbert
The story of how Weezer was born, well not really. Funny and awesome. Personally, one of my favorite music videos to this day.

1) Fatboy Slim – Weapon of Choice
Celebrity – Christopher Walken
As if you didn’t think it would be any other vid. This music video not only takes the cake in the celebrity category, but possibly best overall music video ever. Spike Jonze hit the nail on the head with this one.

Honorable Mention:

Fountains of Wayne – Stacy’s Mom
Celebrity – Rachel Hunter
Not the hugest name in the world, but she is the pinnacle of MILFs.

Blink 182 – Josie
Celebrity – Alyssa Milano
Alyssa Milano in a cheerleading outfit. Why isn’t this number one??

Aerosmith – Cryin’
Celebrity – Alicia Silverstone
Probably most girls rebel anthem of the 90s thanks to this vid.

Green Day – Wake Me Up When September Ends
Celebrity – Rachel Evan Wood
Long and sappy, but now everytime I watch it, I can only think of her as the Vampire Queen of True Blood.

Gnarles Barkley – Run
Celebrity – Justin Timberlake
The guy is everywhere, I couldn’t put him in the top 10 just because he was already in 2 of the 10. Again, triple threat.

One of my favorite new bands covers one of my favorite old bands. If you haven’t heard of Phoenix, I highly recommend that you check them out. If you haven’t heard of Bob Dylan, I highly recommend you take a salad fork and jam it through your temple. Our friends over at Pitchforkmedia.com were generous enough to have the MP3 up and running already. Here is Phoenix’s cover of “Sad-Eyed Lady of the Lowlands”. (Don’t worry, they trimmed it down from its original 11 minutes down to around 4).

You can also DL the track at Pitchforkmedia’s site.

Or even just music lovers in general! My good friend DJ Albino is having his 4th and final 24 hour DJ show at WWSP 90FM. For those of you who don’t know I used to work at the worlds best college radio station, 90FM. During this time my indie and alternative music branches blossomed out into a love that will never go away. Anyway during most of my tenure, I met DJ Albino, who is not only a great programmer, DJ, and worker, but also a great friend of mine as well. Ever since joining the 90fm staff, once a year Albino pulls out 24 hours off indie and alternative bliss and calls it… the 24 hour RaNDoM JaNDoM. Sadly, this is his final year in school, thus this is his 4th and final 24 hour show. The show is already underway (Friday 8am – Saturday 8am) but have no fear, there’s still plenty of time left to tune in. You can even feel free to call in for a request at (715) 346-2696 if you think you’re indie knowledge is prestige enough. Tune in via online here at the WWSP 90fm website! I better hear some great pelvic thrusting music from you Albino!

Since the Packers have been mathematically ruled out of the playoffs (quiet you, it’s my way of coping), March madness not quite around the corner yet, and spring training light years away, I figure why not talk about something else outside of sports tonight. I suppose I could talk about the Bucks, but my goal of these writings is too intrigue you, not bore you. To anyone that really knows me well; they know that music is a general passion of mine. Listening, creating, playing… I love it all.

Lucero rocking the house in Milwaukee

As I sat around tonight after the playoffs I found myself listening to one of my favorite bands of all time… Lucero. That being said, I’m willing to bet less than five of you faithful readers will know who they are. Turned on to them during my college days, I found them to be the perfect blend of country and rock. The band hails from one of the Mecca’s of music, Memphis, Tennessee. They are the perfect band to feed my needs of punk like lyrics, southern twang, and a catchy beat, I knew right away that I must listen to them more and more. I now own all of their albums and just last summer, I finally got to see them live, as they came to Wisconsin for the first time ever.

I went with a friend who is also a hardcore fan of them and we started our two hour drive down in the rain. The scenario fit the band like a glove, as the show was at Turner Hall, a very old and nostalgic venue in the city of Milwaukee. You could hear the bass and could see the alcohol in the glasses on the bar softly ripple. The venue was on the next floor directly above this bar, so we walked up another flight of stairs. The old stage being prepped with all the bands equipment, paint chipped pillars holding the place together, hardwood floors that creaked with every new person that walked in. You could definitely tell this place has seen its fair amount of shows and breathed musical history.

The ambiance was incredible and the atmosphere equally as perfect. Beards and plaid button downs in every corner of the room. (To those who don’t know, lead singer Ben Nichols is notorious for his grizzled beard and cowboy/punk look of denim jeans and a plaid). Tall boys of PBR held in everyone’s hand, while whiskey the undertone on everyone’s breath. Every single person there had to have been a diehard fan, as everyone knew the lyrics to every song. Between songs, random shouting to Ben on what to play next, but it was a two-way street as Ben would talk back. Never in my entire life have I been to a show that was so intimate and just fit to perfection. THIS. IS. LUCERO.

This went on for the entirety of the show and the crowd ate it up. From the classic songs like “Bikeriders”, “Kiss the Bottle” and “San Fransisco” to some of their newer songs off of their most recent and just released album “1372 Overton Park” the Memphis boys covered the field. I think I could speak for every single person that was there, when I say they put on one hell of a show. Before we left we got to chit chat with the bands guitarist Brian Venable. We left with a sense of pure satisfaction. The parking ticket I received for parking in supposedly an “employee” lot didn’t even damper my night. Same went for the pouring rain. I was in a state of pure bliss. To cut my ramblings short, I’ll just say this, check out the band. If you have any country, punk or rock infused in your body, I guarantee you will enjoy this band.

Here are a few of my favorite songs by them…

More amazing things have happened than this. Ed Norton and Johnny Depp have never won an Academy Award, Dan Marino never won a Super Bowl, “Arrested” Development” was canceled after only three phenomenal seasons, I never learned how to read! Ok, so the last one isn’t true but the fact remains that one more thing could be included in that list and that is that up until November 3rd, the Foo Fighter’s have never released a Greatest Hits. Now I can already hear all you pessimistic know-it-all’s yelling “You’re an idiot, they came out with a compilation of hits with their first live album in 2006 with “Skin and Bones”. To that I say screw off you’re a dumbass, and let me list the reason’s you couldn’t be more wrong. First off, Skin and Bones was mostly just Dave Grohl with his acoustic in hand, the band was seen in only a few sets. Secondly, it was live, and although I have nothing against live shows, or albums, there is obvious differences in the style of play and of couse, the cheering crowd in the background. Third, IT’S NOT A GREATEST HIT’S UNTIL THE ALBUM SAYS GREATEST HITS. PERIOD. Anyway, I will digress to the point in hand… Greatest Hits.

If you need any proof that the FF could withstand the generational gap, just gaze at the track list. Greatest Hits will be 16 songs long and will include classics such as “Learn to Fly”, “Monkey Wrench”, “Big Me” and next gen hits like “Long Road to Ruin”, “Best of You”, “The Pretender”. The album is very widespread and does an spectacular job dividing out songs equally amongst each album. The Colour and the Shape will be the most represented album with just 3 tracks. Not to leave anything out, the album will even include “Skin and Bones” from the EP Album Five Songs and a Cover (If you do not have this EP I highly recommend it, as the cover song is a well done Cream song). The band will also follow suit of what many artists do upon a greatest hits and add two new tracks into the mix as well. Already released is the song “Wheels” which shows the more upbeat side of Grohl. I can only speculate that the album will draw attention to both new and old FF fans seeing how it’s been almost 3 years since they went on “break” so in the end, we’re just glad to hear them again!

On an evening which should have been a bright one for country/pop sensation Taylor Swift, the night was quickly ruined by the multi-award ruining man, Kanye West. During tonight’s MTV music video awards, Taylor Swift won best female video, beating out other big names like Pink, Katy Perry and Beyonce. Swift barely had the mic when she was rudely interrupted and Kanye West stormed the stage, taking the mic right out of Swift’s hands. He would go on to say “Yo Taylor, I’m really happy for you, I’ll let you finish, but Beyoncé has one of the best videos of all time. One of the best videos of all time!,”. Awkwardness

filled the air, as a reign of boos would fill the hall, until Kanye would leave the stage and soon thereafter turning into an uproaring cheer and chants for Swift. The damage was done though as a source would say that Swift was crying hysterically backstage afterward. Kanye has apparenlty already posted an apology

on his blog, but I feel the wounds may too deep.

Later on into the show Beyonce would win Video of the Year and showing an act of class, invited Taylor Swift back on stage for a second chance. Beyonce and Swift would share a hug and then passed on the mic to Taylor for another try…

“Maybe we can try this again,” Swift said, drawing a laugh.

“I would really like to thank Roman White, who directed the video, and Lucas Till for being in it,” Swift said. “I would like to thank all the fans on Twitter and MySpace and everyone that came out to my shows this summer. And I would like to thank my little brother’s high school for letting us shoot there.

This isn’t Kanye’s first award show outburst either, the self-absorbed star has had a track record of being the queen of drama at shows… as he has rushed the stage multiple times in the past due to the fact that his video’s have not won. Just tell me Kanye, you DO like Fishsticks don’t you?
